Co-Founded by the award-winning designers Nontokozo Tshabalala and Osmond Tshuma in 2016. Mam'Gobozi Design Factory or Mam'G as we like to refer to is a South African based design studio creating work and spaces that celebrate the Afrikan identity.
Although Mam'G has a focus on building brand identities that are brave enough to take up the challenge to decolonise the way we see branding, it is a space to explore, experiment and play. The core of the studio is to be able to create work that not only looks good but speaks to the heart and celebrates the Afrikan identity.
Our philosophy is grounded in the teachings of Professor Saki Mafundikwa to look within. As creatives from the Afrikan continent, we no longer want to subscribe to the western ways of designing. We want to celebrate the many who have come before us, who remind us of our greatness and the immense creativity our continent holds.
Mam'Gobozi, an isiZulu referring to the local aunty we all have in our community who knows everyone's business and is also very eager to share, we want to share the news of what it may mean to be unapologetically designing from the Afrikan context.
